PDP appoints Dr. Aziegbemi to lead 10-member caretaker committee in Edo
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the constitution of a 10-member Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the party in Edo State.
This decision was made on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), in accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
In a statement, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party revealed that the new committee will be chaired by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, with Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe serving as Secretary.
Other appointed members of the committee include Hon. Harrison Omagbon, Hon. Fidel Igenegbale, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, Tony Anenih Jnr., Archbishop Anthony Okosun, Hon. Segun Saiki, Adezat Kuburat Ibrahim, and Augustine Edosomwan.

The committee has been mandated to pilot the affairs of the PDP in Edo State for an interim period not exceeding three months. As stipulated under Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution, the committee will oversee party administration and ensure internal cohesion within the state chapter during this transitional phase.
The NWC urged all members of the PDP in Edo State to rally around the caretaker committee and work collectively to maintain party unity, stability, and strength.
Furthermore, the party called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the media to take note of the committee’s composition and leadership, and to be guided accordingly in all related dealings.
This development comes amid preparations for upcoming political activities in Edo State, signaling the PDP’s commitment to restructuring and strengthening its internal mechanisms.
