Police arrest 3 suspects, recover cables, sheep
The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested five suspects; three for stealing, and two for vandalism.
This was made known in the official Facebook page of the command on Friday.
It partly read, “On 05/11/2023 at about 0830hrs, one Mustapha Dahiru ‘m’ age 27yrs of Baskwar village Babura LGA, reported at the station that, on the same date at about 0330hrs, unknown persons trespassed into his house and stole away his sheep.
“On receipt of the report, Policemen on patrol were detailed. Fortunately, one Isah Musa ‘m’ age 20yrs, one Sa’idu Bello ‘m’ age 21yrs all of Baskwar village Babura LGA and one Ibrahim Muhammad ‘m’ age 18yrs of Gidan Mutum Daya village Katsina state were arrested in possession of the said sheep.”

The statement also detailed how two cable thieves were apprehended.

“In another development, on 06/11/2023 at about 1400hrs, Policemen attached to Gwaram Division while on patrol arrested one Tasiu Saidu ‘m’ age 33yrs of Kadawa Miletara quarters Ungogo LGA Kano State, with bundles of armoured cable wires strongly suspected to be Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO’s) property along Basirka to Darazo Road,” the statement read.
It added, “On 09/11/2023 at about 1010hrs, Policemen from Kaugama Divisional Police headquarters while on patrol along Gujungu to Majiya road arrested one Jabir Ali ‘m’ age 21yrs of Kokoci village Taura LGA, with three (3) sacks of vandalized cable wire strongly suspected to be stolen.”
