Presidency 2023: APC Governors visit Buhari in Daura, endorse Tinubu-Shettima Muslim-Muslim ticket
The governors of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), the Progressives Governors’ Forum, on Monday paid homage to President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, where they endorsed the Muslim-Muslim joint ticket of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima for the 2023 presidential election.
Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, who led eight APC Governors to the President in Daura, was of the view that the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket will usher in the new Nigeria the people have been clamouring for. Bagudu maintained that the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the party’s presidential candidate, essentially, the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate, is the best option for the APC in the 2023 presidential election.
Bagudu declared: “Shettima is one of Nigeria’s finest who will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the governance of the nation.” He was optimistic that the formidable team will usher in a new Nigeria, adding that APC Governors are proud of the decision.
The APC Governors asserted that the Tinubu/Shettima joint team will certainly complement the achievements and track records of President Buhari in the past seven years.
The APC Governors on the homage visitation include Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.
