President Buhari departs for New York
- addresses UN General Assembly on Monday
The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has departed Abuja on Sunday morning to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Buhari is joining other world leaders and will deliver the country national statement during the meeting that will witness his participation in the general debate.
The theme of this year’s debate, National Daily gathered is: “Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for all on a Sustainable Planet.”
Other assignments the president is expected to deal with while attending the UN meeting according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffery Onyema, include discussing the repatriation of Nigeria’s stolen funds.
President Buhari is also expected to address the General Assembly on Monday (tomorrow).
