Presidential investigative panel submits report on Monday

The Presidential Investigative Committee is scheduled to present its report on Monday, May 8, 2017, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, disclosed in a statement on Thursday.
The committee is a three-man Presidential Investigative Committee set up by President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, under the chairmanship of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to inquire into the Discovery of Foreign and Local Currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Osbourne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos and the Allegations of Due Process Violations in the Award of Contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
Recall that as part of its resolve to tackle the menace of corruption in country, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has discovered huge sums of money at designated locations in the country.

The latest being the discovery and recovery of 43 million Dollars, 23 million Naira and another 27,000 Pounds, from an apartment somewhere in the Ikoyi area of Lagos state.
Again, following tge Ikoyi incidence, was the recovery by the EFCC operatives of €547,730 and £21,090 as well as N5,648,500 from a Bureau de change in Balogun Market, Lagos.
Also, prior to that recovery, the commission recovered another huge sum of money, hidden in an abandoned shop also in Lagos.
