Raphael Varane: 24 years of age, 14 trophies
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Raphael Varane boasts a bulging trophy cabinet despite being just 24 years old and the Club World Cup victory took his haul to 14.
The French centre-half arrived at the Bernabeu at 18 and has played a key part in Real’s successes during 2017 where they have lifted five trophies and to put into context his feat, Sergio Ramos, aged 31, only has 18 trophies himself.
Varane won his first silverware aged 19, with the famed 100 point championship under Jose Mourinho and with the Portuguese he won one more trophy, while he had a further four with Carlo Ancelotti and eight so far under Zinedine Zidane.
He has now won all the trophies available at club level and so all that remains is success at international level.
He has three Champions Leagues, starting in both Lisbon and Cardiff, and did not begin in Milan due to injury, which shows that he is on course for Gento’s record.
