Secondus: Noose tightens as 4 PDP national vice chairmen take position against their boss
Calls for resignation get deafening as PDP’s National chairman Uche Secondus digs in his claws, saying he will not resign, and the party’s legal adviser revealed the chairman can be sacked only in a national convention.
No fewer than four out of the party’s regional chairmen have also joined the camp of the powerful party chieftain Secondus claims wants him out.
According to an August 9 statement issued by the southwest chairman Oladejo Arapaja, the call is part of the vice chairmen caucus resolutions to avert further crisis.
“That the National Chairman of the party Prince Uche Secondus, should resign and save the party from further disintegration being witness presently in the party,” the statement read in part.
“That the resignation of its national officers is as a result of the inert leadership of the national chairman, and as well the movement of governors of the party to the failed ruling party.
“They as well resolved that all party stakeholders and party faithful should remain calm and resolute to the party as the party is the only hope of all Nigerians.”
Other national vice chairmen that made the resolution were South-South Zone Dan Osi, South-East Chief Ali Odefa, and North-Central Dankas Shau.
