Skitmakers remanded for ‘defaming’ governor
A magistrate court sitting in Kano State has remanded in prison custody popular skitmakers, Mubarak Muhammad (Uniquepikin) and Nazifi Muhammad, for allegedly defaming the state’s governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, in one of their skits.
National Daily reports that the duo made a skit depicting Ganduje as a corrupt politician, who sold every available public plots of land in the state.
According to the report, they were arraigned by the police before Magistrate Court 58, Nomansland, presided over by Magistrate Aminu Gabari.
When the charges were read to them, the defendants pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and defamation of character of the governor.
The court therefore ordered that they be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till November 7 for passing of sentence.
