Taylor Swift paid $160,000 for New York wedding permit — Mayor
Pop superstar Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for a New York City permit to stage her high-profile wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden this month, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said on Friday.
Mamdani made the disclosure while responding to questions from reporters about whether Swift would reimburse the city for police overtime incurred during the star-studded ceremony.
“Taylor Swift has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” the mayor said.

Swift’s wedding, held over two days in Manhattan, attracted hundreds of celebrity guests and required a significant police presence, with authorities closing streets around the iconic indoor arena to manage security and traffic.
The total cost of the wedding has not been officially disclosed. However, Forbes estimated the event cost more than $20 million. The couple also donated $26 million to several charities ahead of the ceremony.
