Tinubu appoints Atiku’s former aide, Daniel Bwala as special adviser

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday appointed a former aide of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala as his new Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House).

Bwala’s appointment is also among three other appointments announced by the presidency on Thursday.

Known for his articulate commentary on national issues, Bwala’s expertise will play a critical role in shaping the administration’s communication strategies and maintaining a clear, constructive dialogue between the government and the public.

Mr. Olawale Olopade – Appointed as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Olopade brings extensive experience in sports administration.

He previously served as the commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun State and chaired the local organizing committee of the 2024 National Sports Festival, showcasing his leadership capabilities in managing large-scale sporting events.

His expertise is expected to revitalize the commission’s activities and improve the development of sports nationwide.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Named the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Fagade has built a strong reputation as a marketing communication expert.

He is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions, a firm noted for its strategic insights in branding and marketing.

His appointment signals a shift towards incorporating innovative marketing approaches within the tourism sector, aiming to enhance Nigeria’s profile as a competitive global tourism destination.

Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Now heading the Bureau of Public Procurement, Adedokun previously held the position of Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning within the bureau.

His deep understanding of the bureau’s inner workings and experience in procurement policy and reform positions him well to oversee transparent and efficient procurement processes in government operations. His leadership is expected to bolster the bureau’s commitment to best practices in public procurement and fiscal responsibility.
