Why Lagos CP sacks Anti-kidnapping OC
Less than 24 hours after some policemen attached to the Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism Squad, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, were allegedly involved in taking N50,000 bribe from a suspect, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the removal of the Officer-in-Charge of the unit, CSP Akinade Adejobi.
CSP Adejobi and his officers were alleged to have taken N50,000 as part of bail condition from one Blessing Taiwo, after she was arrested by her employer over an alleged theft.
CP Imohimi, who assumed duty last week after taking over from his predecessor, CP Fatai Owoseni, it was learnt, took the decision on Monday saying it was a smack on the image of the Nigerian police.

It was further gathered that after the officers had collected the N50,000, they seized the victim’s phone pending when a balance of N20,000 would be paid on Tuesday (tomorrow) before the bubble blew.
Besides, Blessing’s sister, Florence, who had taken the responsibility of bringing food to her sister and negotiated the bail fee, had claimed she was sexually harassed, molested by the policemen who put hands into her private part and fondled her breasts.
These, she explained they did anytime she was in the station to give her sister food in the cell.
She also alleged that her sister was detained with a woman with unstable mental condition, reiterating how would a normal human being be detained in the same cell with someone that has insanity.
Other allegations under the under of CSP Adejobi was that one of his subordinate has been calling her (Florence) on phone for sexual intimacy.
