Reason married man beat girlfriend to death on her birthday

A 45-year-old married trader at Ladipo market in Mushin, Lagos, Mr Victor Umeh, has been arrested by the police over the murder of his girlfriend.
Ago Divisional police in Okota arrested Umeh, who deals in spare parts at Ladipo market, Mushin Lagos over the death of his girlfriend called Miss Happiness.
National Daily learnt that the incident happened on Saturday at his house at 5/7 Michael Osisipi street off Banjo Oyewele street where the suspect resides.
The suspect brutally beat the deceased until she gave up the ghost in his house.
Immediately he discovered the victim was not breathing again, the suspect started arranging how to carry her corpse away from his house but his neighbours alerted the police .
It was learnt that the victim went to celebrate her birthday with her lover when they start arguing over mere issue that led to her death.
It was gathered that the Plateau State-born Happiness visited Umeh who hails from Orumba South local government in Anambra in a bid to take her to a popular night club to mark her day.
National Daily further gathered that the suspect took his lover to a club where she would have marked her birthday only him to see the girl exchanging greeting with another man at the club and immediately the suspect left the club without the girl knowing he had gone home.
The deceased waited for over one hour and realised he didn’t come back, she called severally but refused picking his calls so she decided to go back to the  suspect’s house.
But on getting to the house, she met he already lockef himself inside. She told him to open the door. As soon as he opened the door, the deceased made enquiry why he left the club without letting her know that he has gone home.
It was further gathered that the suspect started beating her until she felt down and  died.
Although the suspect wife and his four children are staying in the village, the deceased have been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.
The suspect has been transfered to the State Criminal and Intelligent Department, SCIID at Panti for further investigation.
