4 warning signs that your body needs more folic acid
Folate deficiency can cause symptoms similar to that of anemia or lack of red blood cells. When the body lacks folate, the best thing you should do is start taking foods and fruits that contain folate and if that is not enough, you start taking folic acid tablets. They can help get you back to shape when your body is running short of folate.
But what are the signs you will notice if your body is lacking folate or you are having folate deficiency? 1. Persistent unexplained fatigue or weakness is one of the signs of anemia caused by folate deficiency. If you start feeling overly tired even when you are not suffering from any ailment, then it could be due to lack of folate in the body.
2. Pale Skin; folate is very important to the body and helps with lots and lots of things, but when it’s lacking in the blood, a person may start looking pale and watery. If you start having pale skin colour, then it may be advisable for you to see a doctor.
3. Shortness of Breath; when we talk about shortness of breath, we simply mean, inability or difficulty breathing. If you start having difficulties breathing, then it could still be due to folate deficiency. Don’t just take it for granted, ensure you get checked to know exactly what is wrong with you.
4. Irritability; this is another sign of anemia caused by folate deficiency. If you start getting irritated very easily accompanied by the above signs or symptoms, then there is a high chance that you’ve run short of folate.
