The type of food you eat and the time you eat that food matters a lot. This is why experts have taken their time to differentiate the types of food to eat at night and the ones to eat in the morning as well as during lunch.
In this article, I will be talking about 5 best foods to eat at night and reasons why they are recommended for this time of the day.
1. White rice
White Rice might not be very healthy for the body but when it comes to night meal, it is said to be one of the best. Because of it’s high glycemic index, it helps in making a person to sleep better and faster.
Eating White rice has also been proven to help improve the sense of fullness and restfulness.
2. Sweet potatoes
Studies recommended that eating boiled sweet potatoes could help you a lot at night. This is because it contain Vitamin B6 and Melatonin which improves mood and prepares a person for sleep. It makes your body feel relaxed and sleepy.
But don’t eat French fries or fry your potato yourself, this makes it dangerous to the body.
3. Chicken noodle soup
Eating a plate of chicken noodle soup could really help your body get relaxed. It gives your body a whole sense of safety and helps you power down. Soups are also quite easy for the body to digest.
4. Fatty fishes
Fatty fishes has been found to be very healthy for the body. They are also good in giving a person a good night sleep. Fishes like salmon and tuna are high in Omega 3 fatty acids as well as vitamin D. It contains nutrients which help in regulating serotonin which regulates sleep.
5. Cereal with skim milk
A low fat milk and a low sugar cereal is considered as a morning food but it could also serve as a night food. The milk contains amino acids tryptophan which serves as a precursor for the serotonin which regulates sleep.
High fat milk take longer time to digest which makes your body to work late instead to snoozing.
