APC gov. arrests, detains baby after retiree father sends SMS plea
A six-month-old baby, her sister, father, and mother have sued Kebbi’s governor and the Department of State Services for arrest and detention for 13 days without trial.
The family of four were arrested Sept. 1 in Yauri, and were kept in custody till Sept. 13.
Abdulrahman Nasir Jato, Hadiza Nasir Jato, Aisha Zakari and the six-month-old baby were arrested in their house by DSS operatives for allegedly texting Governor Atiku Bagudu to pay their father’s gratuity.
Justice Bassey Onu Sunday of the Federal High Court at Birnin-Kebbi has adjourned the case for ruling.
