Kidnappers kill one as two emissaries escaped after delivering ₦1.5m ransom
Bandits in the northwest went wild after receiving ransom from three emissaries who came to deliver the money for some kidnapped victims. The bandits were said to have shot one of the three messengers dead in Kaugama Local Government Area, Jigawa State, after they had delivered ₦1.5 million ransom to the bandits for the release of the kidnapped victims.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Jigawa State Command, ASP Lawal Shisu, had in a statement issued identified the victim as Ahmad Nadabo.
The PPRO disclosed that two other persons who went with the victim escaped as the bandits started shooting at them after collecting the N1.5 million ransom.
The PPRO, ASP Shisu, highlighted: “The police received information that, while three men were delegated by the family of Alhaji Abdullahi Jarma who was kidnapped on 1/09/2021 to deliver the sum of 1.5 million to the abductors.
“One Ahmad Nadabo was killed and the remaining two took to their heels and escaped, the victim was however released on September 15, around the Hadejia axis and has reunited with his family safely.”
The PPRO disclosed that the Commissioner of Police of the State Command has deployed detectives of the Anti-Kidnapping Section, State CID Dutse, on a manhunt for the bandits as well as the incident.
