Oba of Benin: Crown Prince completes accession rites, sets up coronation committee

The Benin Traditional Council (BTC), has stated that, His Royal Highness, (Amb.) Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’ Uselu have successfully performed all the required traditional rites for his accession to the throne of the Oba of Benin.
Chief Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom and also the head BTC, confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen at the palace of the monarch in Benin City.
Chief Igbe said,” Benin Traditional Council is happy to announce to the general public that HRH, Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’ Uselu has successfully performed all the required traditional rites including EMWINEKHUA(the Royal funeral rites).
He added that rites completed all requirements for his succession to the throne of the Oba of Benin.
He further disclosed that as part of the preparation for the Coronation, a 3-Man committee has been inaugurated adding that, the coronation programme commencement would be unveiled in no distance time.
The 3-man committees comprises of Coronation Planning Committee headed by Professor Gregory Akenzua, Engr. Dr. Greg Ero heads the Finance Committee, while Government Committee is ably led by Chief Oseni Elamah to complete the committees for the coronation procession.
