Killer wife arrested days after soaking husband with boiling water
Ramota Bello, the house wife that bathed her sleeping husband Saliu with hot water, and fled after he died, has been arrested by the operatives of the Ogun police command.
According to the report at the Lafenwa divisional headquarters Abeokuta by a brother of Saliu’s o Feb12, the couple had a tiff before the husband went to sleep the night before at their Fulani community in Abeokuta’s suburb.
But he woke up scathed as a result of the hot water Ramota poured on him.
“The victim was quickly rushed to hospital for treatment, but gave up the ghost on the 13th of February 2022 while receiving treatment,” a statement by Ogun PPRO Oyeyemi Abimbola said on Thursday.
“The suspect, having realized the gravity of the crime, took to flight since then. The case was not initially reported to the police until 21st of February 2022, when the suspect was sighted in her hideout.
“Upon the report, the DPO, Lafenwa division, CSP Kayode Shadrach, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
Oyeemi said the commissioner of police CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
