Shehu Sani reacts to the Alleged announcement of Ahmad Lawan as the consensus candidate of APC
Just yesterday, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adamu Abdullahi, announced that Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Senate of Nigeria, is the consensus candidate of the party.
This prompted mixed reactions from Nigerians, with the party’s national working committee coming out to deny the announcement.
Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani, an author, playwright, and human rights activist, has taken to his verified Twitter handle to react to the announcing of Ahmad Lawan as the APC’s consensus candidate.
According to him, the position of the National Chairman of a party is supposed to be final. He went on to claim that the Chairman’s position is so glorious that INEC will only accept a letter signed by him, so no intra-party war or peace is possible without him.
In his words;
“The position of the National Chairman of a party is so crucial that Inec only accept a letter signed by him.”
“No intra-party war or peace is possible without him.”
This has sparked mixed reactions among his followers, with some saying that the party’s chairman has no right to choose a flagbearer without following the due process of the party.
