Bandits kidnapped, killed passengers along Katsina-Jibia road
People died, and many got kidnapped as bandits unleashed terror on passengers travelling the Katsina-Jibia road on Wednesday evening.
Eyewitnesses said the criminals numbering 20 came riding on six motorcycles, blocked the road around Kadobe, and started shooting in the air.
On=coming vehicle, especially those whose drivers lost control, had to stop or veered into the bush.
Soldiers however arrived much later, after the bandits concluded their operation.
Katsina has been badly hit by the waves of banditry lately despite series of measures, including banning of motorcycles and imposing caps on petrol selling, and military intervention.
