Tinubu wins in Oyo
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the final result announced in Abuja on Monday, was declared winner of the Saturday presidential election in Oyo State.
The results announced at the National Collation Centre, Abuja, by the collation officer, Prof. Olusola Babatunde, on Monday, monitored from Lagos by National Daily, indicated that Tinubu had 449,884 votes, defeating the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who had 182,977 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour, got 99,110 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party 4,095 votes.
Prof. Babatunde said that of a total of 851,956 votes cast, 809,485 vote were valid, 42,471 were rejected, in all the 33 Local Government Areas.
