Update: Obi wins in Enugu, denies Atiku, Tinubu 25% votes
The result of the presidential election announced on Monday in Abuja by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), indicated that the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, won the election in Enugu State.
The INEC Collation Officer for Enugu State, Maduebibisi Ofor Igwe, announcing the result at the National Collation Centre, Abuja, monitored from Lagos by National Daily, declared that Obi had majority votes of 428,640, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 15,749 votes and Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 4,772 votes, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), 1,808 votes.
The Collation Officer said a total of 482,990 voters were accredited from the 2,112,793 registered voters, valid votes were 456,424, while rejected votes were 12,467.
The winning margin of Obi in Enugu State denied other candidates, including Atiku, Tinubu and Kwankwaso 25% votes in the state.
