Ecuador voted in 35-years-old as president

Banana empire heir Daniel Noboa, 35, has been elected as the youngest president in Ecuador’s history.

He emerged the winner of the presidential election on Sunday, October 15, after polling 52.3% of the total vote casts.

Socialite Luisa González, who polled 47.7%, has since conceded defeat and congratulated the president-elect. She was the hand-picked candidate of the former president Rafael Correa.

The 35-year-old, of the National Democratic Action party, is the son of Álvaro Noboa, who ran unsuccessfully for the presidency five times.

“Today we have made history, Ecuadorian families chose the New Ecuador, they chose a country with security and employment.

We are going for a country of realities where promises do not remain in the campaign and corruption is p¥nished,” Noboa said in a statement posted on X.
