Police Inspector arrested for shooting a man during stop-and-search
A police inspector who allegedly shot and injured a young man during a stop-and-search operation in the state, has been arrested.
This was confirmed in a tweet by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe. This is coming after news surfaced on Tuesday that a policeman along the East-West Road Ughelli, Delta State, allegedly shot at a man, with the bullet hitting his leg and abdomen.
In a trending video, a man can be heard wailing and saying, “They don shoot my brother. See the policeman wey shoot my brother.” The police operatives can be seen in the video trying to drive off with the victim’s car as his friends make efforts to rush him to a hospital for medical treatment.
