The Chairman of Victoria Garden City (VGC) resident, Gihan Mbelu, has reportedly died in his vehicle in the Victoria Garden City area of Lagos State.
National Daily gathered on Sunday that 42-year-old Mbelu had reportedly parked his car, a Mercedes C300 4Matic, running for several hours while he sat motionless in the car.
It was further gathered that after prolonged hours of the vehicle stationed at the same spot, residents of the area raised suspicions which prompted them to approach the vehicle.
Sharing details of the incident on Facebook, an eyewitness, Chukwudi Iwuchukwu, narrated that upon sighting that the occupant of the vehicle was motionless, residents attempted to wake him up but all efforts to do so proved abortive.
He added that this prompted the residents to rush him to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Iwuchukwu wrote, “His car was stationary, running for hours, while he lay motionless. They rushed him to the hospital, where they confirmed his death.
“I guess we lost him to the silent killer, high blood pressure. The rate at which 40-year-old men are dropping dead to this silent killer is becoming alarming and worrying.”
Reacting to the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a post on his X page on Saturday, disclosed that an investigation into the incident had begun.
Hundeyin wrote, “Investigation has commenced into this.”
