NNPCL blames fuel scarcity crisis on vessel discharge issues
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has attributed the recent fuel supply and distribution crisis across the country to problems associated with the discharge of several vessels at seaports.
This was disclosed by NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, in a statement on Saturday.
Responding to reports of fuel queues in parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Soneye explained, “The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.”
He assured the public that the company is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the issue and restore normalcy in operations.
