Court remands man for allegedly defiling 1 year-old girl
A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Monday ordered the remand of a 65-year-old man, Idris Danladi, for allegedly defiling a one-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, ordered that Danladi should be remanded in the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry, after he pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of defilement.
He adjourned hearing in the case until Oct.9, for ruling in the bail application filed by Danladi and for legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun told the court that Danladi committed the offence on Aug.9 at the back of Customs Quarters, Seme Border, Badagry, Lagos.
The prosecutor said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos
