Police arrest 23-year-old nursing mother over stolen funds link to her armed robber boyfriend
Police in Edo State have apprehended a 23-year-old nursing mother, Ella Samuel, over her alleged connection to stolen funds reportedly sent to her by her lover, identified as the leader of a notorious armed robbery gang.
According to reports, the gang was behind a series of robberies in Benin City, including attacks on Amagba community. In one incident, they allegedly stole an ATM machine, coerced the owner into revealing their PIN, and transferred N460,000 from the victim’s account.

The stolen funds were traced to a bank account linked to Ella Samuel. Police tracked her to a hotel in Delta State, where she was arrested. However, her boyfriend, the gang leader, managed to evade capture.
Investigations revealed that Samuel has four children, each fathered by different men, all of whom are reportedly wanted for various criminal activities.
In a statement to journalists, Samuel admitted that her arrest followed the deposit of stolen money into her account by her boyfriend.
