Lagos Christians still a factor in 2027 governorship aspiration – CYP
The President of Christian Youth in Politics (CYP) Ambassador Kosile-Kolawole O. Princess has disclosed that the advocacy for the next governor of Lagos State be a moslem is faulty.
Kolawole made this disclosure rising from the body’s quarterly steering committee’s meeting held on Tuesday April 1,2025 in Lagos, stating unequivocally that by the permutations advanced by those making the call that the Christians had already done two consecutive terms, lose sight of the fact that former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode only used a term in office.
Adding that by this single reason Christians should still be counted worthy to vy for the control of the Lagos House come 2027.
“It is a no brainer that Christians has a fair chance to contend in the Lagos polity for the number one seat, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode only spent a term in office leaving us one more term to complete and that is only when things will appear fair in our perception.

“Now we see some our Islamic brothers and sister canvassing that the next governor in the state should be a Moslem forgetting that by calculation we’ve had a gap occasioned by Ambode’s uncompleted terms.
“At least Lagos State Governor at a particular time, by known convention should serve two terms in office fair and square therefore we should be allowed to explore that window come 2027”. Kolawole reiterates.
