The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the full restoration of its National Identification Number (NIN) verification services across Nigeria, following the successful completion of a recent system maintenance exercise.

All previously disrupted services have now resumed operation in a statement released on Friday and made available to the National Daily Newspaper, the Commission confirmed that its technical maintenance work is complete.

“NIMC wishes to inform the general public that the recent technical maintenance has been completed and all services have been restored,” the statement read.

The temporary disruption had caused significant delays and operational challenges for various entities relying on NIN verification, including banks, telecommunication operators, and government agencies, over the past week.

NIMC has advised Nigerians wishing to enroll for a NIN to visit its official website to locate their nearest enrollment centers. For data modifications, such as name changes, the Commission encouraged users to utilize the self-service portal.

Furthermore, the public is urged to download the NIMC NameAuth app (oath.app) from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store for convenient NIN verification and authentication.

The Commission expressed its gratitude to the public for their patience and understanding throughout the period of service disruption.
