The rights activist, in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Sunday, said Joseph Egbunike, a deputy inspector-general of police, who probed Kyari’s alleged deal with self-confessed internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas (Hushpuppi) died a few days ago.

National Daily reports that while Egbunike, a deputy inspector-general of police in charge of the force’s criminal investigations department, died on Tuesday, it is yet to be ascertained if the NDLEA chairman is scheduled for any surgery.
Prior to his death, Egbunike was the chairman of the panel instituted by the IGP to investigate the FBI allegations against Kyari even as the suspended police officer is at present remanded in NDLEA’s custody following an alleged involvement in a cocaine deal.
