After many arrests, counterfeit naira dealer caught again at Odeda
A counterfeit naira note dealer has been arrested at the Kila Market, Odeda LGA, Ogun for spending fake N1000 note in the market.
Bola Agbedimu, 30, was arrested following a report lodged at Odeda divisional headquarters.
Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Friday in Abeokuta that following the report, the DPO Odeda division, CSP Femi Olabode, detailed his detectives to the scene.
“On searching her bag, a sum of N24,000 fake currency note was discovered,” he said, adding the suspect confessed that she has been dealing in counterfeit naira note dealer.
“She confessed further that her mode of operation is mixing the counterfeit notes with genuine ones and used it to purchase goods,” Oyeyemi said.
Oyeyemi said preliminary investigation revealed she has been arrested on many occasions at different markets within Abeokuta.
Police Commissioner Lanre Bankole has ordered immediate transfer of the suspect to the State’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
