Atiku holds reconciliatory meeting Wike In Port Harcourt
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday opened up for reconciliation dialogue with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, sending a delegation for a meeting with the governor at his private residence in Port Harcourt.
The Atiku delegation include Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, Adamu Waziri and PDP governorship candidate on Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede.
Governor Wike also constituted a negotiation team which include former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, former Governor Donald Duke of Cross River State, former Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, and former Governor Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State,
After losing the PDP presidential ticket at the national convention to Atiku in May, Wike also lost the Vice Presidential ticket to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, and has been bitter with the party and the presidential candidate. He has, however, been open to reconciliation and working for the success of the party, despite interim romance with members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
