Boundary Dispute: Osun, Ekiti resolve to explore peace option
The Osun and Ekiti State governments have resolved to take the oath of peace in settling the lingering boundary dispute between both states.
This is as they emphasized that it is always better to jaw-jaw than to war-war.
The two states also emphasized the significance of dialogue and peaceful negotiation as lasting solutions in settling any discrepancy in boundary matters.
This agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye to Osun State on Thursday.
While welcoming the visiting Ekiti Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke who was represented by his Deputy, Kola Adewusi appreciated the Ekiti State Government for taking a peaceful step in synergizing effort with Osun State to amicably resolve boundary dispute between the two states.
We appeal to all the technocrats involved in the matter to do justice in their quest on fact finding mission.”
In her address, the visiting Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Monisade Afuye expressed her delight for the warm reception.
She revealed that her mission to Osun State was to rob mind together with her counterpart on peaceful deliberation in finding lasting solution to the lingering boundary disputes between the two states which according to her has yielded good result.

Speaking at the event, the Surveyor General of Osun State, Surveyor Soladoye Abioye gave words of assurance that all technical issues involved would be amicably resolved through collaborating efforts of both parties.
In his vote of thanks, the special Adviser to the Governor on boundary matters, Bar. Bukola Onifade harped on peaceful deliberation as a vital instrument for resolving any boundary dispute matters.
Onifade also appreciated Ekiti State Government for having a like mind with Osun Governor in the vanguard of peace.
