Momodu dumps PDP, joins ADC
My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight
Chief Dele Momodu, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, has officially tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, effective today, July 17, 2025.
The decision was conveyed in a letter addressed to “The Chairman, PDP Ward 4, Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State”.
Momodu’s resignation stems from his assertion that the PDP has been “unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight”. In his resignation letter, he explicitly stated, “My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight”.
Following his departure, Chief Momodu announced his immediate alignment with a new political entity.

He stated that it is “honorable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while the majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC)”.
He also expressed gratitude for the support received during his time with the PDP, saying, “I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times”.
This move by Chief Dele Momodu marks a significant development in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly as political alignments continue to evolve.
