Chelsea eye Ivan Toney as backup option if Osimhen deal fails
Transfer expert and journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Chelsea may target Brentford’s Ivan Toney if they are unable to secure Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer. The Blues are eager to sign Osimhen but are considering alternatives in case negotiations falter.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones noted that while Toney is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, Chelsea could emerge as a strong contender if their pursuit of Osimhen fails.

“Moving to Saudi Arabia would benefit Toney financially, but it might impact his England career,” Jones explained.
He suggested that a move to a top Premier League club like Chelsea would be more appealing for Toney, especially with Arsenal, Spurs, and Manchester United unlikely to make offers.
“Chelsea has been tracking Toney throughout the year, and he could be their main target if the Osimhen deal doesn’t materialize,” Jones added.
