CMD tasks newly promoted professors on quality research, improved healthcare delivery
Newly promoted professors and directors of the Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto, have been charged to facilitate quality researches and improve healthcare delivery.
Prof. Anas Sabir, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), of UDUTH, gave the charge at a reception organised by the institution, in honour of the newly promoted personnel on Tuesday in Sokoto.
Sabir said that 16 Doctors were promoted to the ranks of Professors and Readers, while 14 Deputy Directors were elevated to Directors on CONHESS 15, in the institution.
The CMD, who was among the promoted Professors, on behalf of the Board, Management, Staff and Students of the Teaching Hospital, felicitated with the new Professors and Deputy Directors on their well deserved promotion.
He urged them to consider their elevations as an encouragement towards providing efficient, effective, affordable and accessible healthcare services to the public.
He further called on them to see the promotion as an opportunity to put in more efforts towards improving the health care delivery in the society.
In separate remarks, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee , Prof. Nasiru Muhammad and Director of Administration, Mr Abbati El-hamzat, expressed gratitude to the Almighty for making it possible for the Hospital to get this number of Professors and Readers.
Muhammad and El-Hamzat felicitated with the promoted staff and called on them to accord the Hospital Management maximum support and cooperation towards achieving its set objectives.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, at its regular Council Meeting, had approved the elevation of sixty academic staff to the ranks of Professors and Readers.
NAN also reports that out of this figure, 16 were Honorary Consultants with the UDUTH, while the UDUTH’s 95th regular Board and Management meeting, approved the elevation of 14 Deputy Directors of different specialties to CONHESS 15.
