DSS disrupts Kano APC congress
Gov Abdullahi Ganduje ordered the DSS to seal off the Sani Abacha Youth Centre in Kano where a parallel congress of the APC was going on Saturday.
The security agents turned back journalists at the gate of the centre claimed they were given instruction to take over the place and stop any gathering.
The only recognised venue for the APC state congress was the Sani Abacha Indoor Sports Hall, the said.
Ganduje had declared any other congress gathering as illegal.
Former Gov Ibrahm Shekarau and his faction have been at war with Ganduje and his splinter of the APC.
Shekarau had asked the APC national secretariat to cancel the Kano state congress because of the crisis rocking the state chapter I the lead-up to the congress.
Similar incidents were recorded in some other state chapters of the ruling APC.
Gunmen stormed the Ogun factional congress, dispersing party men and police at the venue—the palace of a traditional ruler.
