Edo lawmaker kidnapped along Benin-Agbor Road
A lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly was on Saturday kidnapped by gunmen along Benin-Agbor road going to delta State. The gunmen had overwhelmed the legislator’s convoy before whisking him away to an unknown destination.
The Edo State Police Command and the Delta State Police Command could not be reached at the time of this report for details on the action of the police. It is, therefore, not certain if rescue operation has commenced.
The Benin-Agbor road en-route Onitsha, Anambra State, has not been known for kidnapping in recent time, though, other crimes such armed robbery, etc, were known occur on the corridor.
Meanwhile, relatives, supporters, friends and well-wishers have gone into prayer for the safe release of the lawmaker.
