Falconets win again ,beat Waco Academy 2-0
Two late goals scored by attacker,Joy Jerry and defensive midfielder, Mary Saiki gave the Falconets a deserved 2-0 win over Waco Boys Academy today at Goal Project pitch Abuja.
National Daily gathered that Jerry who plays her club football with Bayelsa Queens fc headed in the first goal via a corner kick by Peace Effi in 90th minute of the match while Saiki who plays for Rivers Angels scored a delightful angle shot in the added time to break the heart of the more illustrious boys team.
The high intensity game saw both teams fighting for every ball throughout the match which was part of friendly matches that the Coach Christopher Danjuma led Falconets are playing to put the team in the competition mood ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.
This will be the second match the Falconets will play in 24 hours after the technical crew led by Danjuma said they were not satisfied with their team’s 3- 0 thrashing of the visiting Sa’adatu Queens of Minna, Niger state yesterday in Abuja.
Speaking after the match, Danjuma hinted that he is almost sure of the players who will make the world cup team adding that the many friendly matches Falconets have played have helped the technical crew to select the right players for the FIFA World Cup in France next month.
