Fulani kidnappers collect N250,000 of N25m ransom, kill Miyetti chairman
Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi, chairman of the Lere Local branch of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) was reputed for his wealth of kindness and peaceable airs.
Perhaps some Fulani bandits translated that to bagfuls of naira stashed somewhere in his ruga. So they kidnapped him at Lere.
A statement by Haruna Usman Tugga, Kaduna State chairman of the association, on Friday said the gunmen took him somewhere along Saminaka, Mari, Zango.
His ransom was N25 million.
Certainly, the gang of bandits that kidnapped him had no heart. Some others can hold on to their victim for as long as it takes him raise the fund—or they make do with whatever amount the hostage can raise.
By Friday Dambardi could raise only N250, 000.
The mention of the miserable amount annoyed the kidnappers.
According to Tugga, the bandits took the money, led him to a highway, and took his life , too.
They shot him dead.
“We have really lost a leader of high respect who has been assisting the association in promoting harmony and coexistence among members,” the Miyetti state chairman said.
He urged security agencies to ensure justice and fish out the killers
