According to reports, following the initial attack, the gunmen proceeded to invade the residence of the community’s traditional ruler, Bashir Abubakar. Shockingly, they kidnapped his wife and son, whisking them away to an undisclosed location, leaving the family in distress and uncertainty.A source from the community, deeply saddened by the horrifying attack, revealed that the injured victim was swiftly rushed to Ningi General Hospital for urgent medical attention. The source further explained that the assailants had specifically targeted the traditional ruler, who managed to escape their clutches.Unfortunately, his wife and son were not as fortunate, as they were forcibly taken to a nearby forest in the Ningi community.

Despite efforts to reach the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, at the time of reporting, his confirmation or comment on the incident could not be obtained.

National Daily gathered that gunmen had recently unleashed havoc on the Kafin Lemo community, breaking into shops and houses and looting valuable possessions worth millions of naira. During this invasion, one person was reportedly shot in the leg, further adding to the growing concerns about insecurity in the region.

Residents of the Ningi Local Government Area have been living in constant fear and panic due to the recurrent attacks. These relentless incidents have caused them to worry about their safety while going about their daily lives and conducting businesses within various communities in the local government area.

Numerous community members have come forward, recounting the distressing events of the past month. Gunmen have targeted several villages in the Ningi Local Government Area, resulting in the loss of two lives and the abduction of many individuals. Moreover, these kidnappers have mercilessly extorted approximately N50 million in ransom from the families of the victims before eventually releasing them.

The alarming rise in violence and criminal activities within Bauchi State has raised serious concerns among both residents and authorities. Efforts must be intensified to address the security challenges faced by communities, ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
