Here is why you fart after eating beans
Beans are very popular around the world. They are also delicious and nutritious and contains nutrients like magnesium, zinc, folate etc. However, most times when you eat beans, you will notice that you fart often. There are certain reasons for this. According to health experts, these are the reasons why you fart after eating beans.
1) Beans contains a high amount of dietary fiber: Fiber is very good for the gut and can also prevent constipation. Beans is rich in soluble fiber which can help to prevent bad cholesterol and also manage blood sugar. However, the intake of this fiber in beans can make you fart because when fiber is fermented by the bacteria in the gut, it releases gas.
2) Beans contains raffinose: Raffinose is a compound in beans that is poorly digested by the body. When it moves through the stomach and small intestine undigested and gets to the large intestine, it is fermented by gut bacteria and this can cause gas and even bloating.
In conclusion, despite the fact that beans is nutritious, it can cause fart because of the compounds it contains. However, you can reduce fart after eating beans by soaking and cooking it before consumption.
