IGP strengthens security operations in Lagos, Ogun border communities
The Special Squad deployed by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has deepened security operations into the precincts of border communities in Lagos and Ogun states being ravaged by armed robbers. As at 11.28pm a, patrol team was noticed to have repeatedly visited the streets of Ajuwon and its environs. The patrol teams was sounding siren, issuing warning signals to the gang robbers.
The sound of the siren attracted responses from vigilante groups on duty who blew their whistles in return.
The patrol of the team brought a sigh of relief to residents of the area. The vigilante groups were energised.
Residents, however, expressed the fear, hoping the patrol police will not register presence temporarily and abandon the people.
Meanwhile, the Police Patrol team is still sustaining surveillance.
