Kano committee sanctions local vegetable oil company for poor hygiene.
The Kano state Task Force Committee on sanitation on Friday, sanctioned a local groundnut oil production plant at Dakata, in the Nasarawa area of the state capital, for poor hygiene.
While speaking with newsmen on the situation shortly after inspecting the local industry, the Chairman of the committee, Dr Kabiru Getso, said the industry had crossed all boundaries.
He said, “Despite series of warnings and surveillance, the company had failed to accept sanitary conditions laid down for them for a smooth operation.”
Getso revealed that the mobile court attached to the committee would announce the penalty imposed on the company.
Also, the Chairman of the committee and also the state Commissioner for environment, commended the Farm Centre GSM market over good hygiene.
He further urged owners of market premises and workplaces to embrace the culture of good hygiene for the smooth running of their businesses.
