Kidnappers in military uniforms
Police authorities in Abuja have paraded 11 suspected kidnappers, comprising nine men and two ladies whose modus operandi is to dress in military uniforms to deceive innocent publics
The gang, often clad in military uniform, terrorised residents of Gwagwalada, Kachia and its environs, it was said.
One of the suspects, Musa Ibrahim, 27, said the group, armed with two AK47 rifles, carried out two kidnap attacks in Gwagwalada and another two in Kachia.
One of the ladies, Hafsat Adamu said the guns were well concealed in a box, which he delivered to his boyfriend, one Babangida, a member of the gang.

“We are trying to get Nigerians abreast of emerging crime trends so that citizens can take proactive measures towards safeguarding themselves,” Force spokesman CP Frank Mba said.
Two AK47, two pump action rifles and many other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects.
Another member of the gang, Bashiru Sule, 25, said, “My master taught me how to kidnap. We operate in Kano and take our victims into the bush where our boss is waiting. I board the vehicle as a passenger and sometimes I drive my vehicle. I load passengers in the park and I provide information to my kidnapping gang on the quality of people in the car.
“In our last job, we kidnapped three victims and took them to the bush.
“Our gangs are stationed along the highways in Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kaduna. During our first operation, they gave me N70,000. I got N40,000 in my second operation and got N30,000 in my last deal.”
Mba said the suspects operated in two motor parks in Kano, urging motor park managers to be vigilant against criminal elements.
