Kogi House of Assembly elects new Speaker, Umar Aliyu
Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly on Tuesday elected Umar Aliyu, representing Lokoja 2 consistency, Speaker of the 8th Assembly.
Umar Aliyu, first time member of the House, was elected unopposed after the proclamation of the 8th House of Assembly by the Clerk, Chogudo Ahmed, in the absence of Governor Yahaya Bello.
A returning member of the House, Paul Enema, representing Okura state constituency, was elected Deputy Speaker of the House, and Yusuf Zakari was appointed Majority Leader.
