Lagos loses two more coronavirus patient
Lagos State has lost two more patients to the dreaded novel coronavirus that originated from China.
The state’s Health Commissioner, Professor Akin Abayomi announced this on his Twitter handle- @ProfAkinAbayomi on Tuesday.
The commission, meanwhile confirmed that the state recorded no new patient on Monday, April 20.
With the two deaths, the number of persons to have died of the disease in Lagos now stands at 16.
The Health Commissioner’s tweet read: “No new case of #COVID19 was confirmed in Lagos on 20th April, 2020.
“However, #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos. One of the deceased was a 45 years old Nigerian; male who returned from India in January, 2020.
“The second death involved a 36 year old Nigerian; female with severe underlying health condition. She had no history of travel or contact with any #COVID19 confirmed case.
“Total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos now stands at 16.
“I urge you all to remain vigilant and report any concern about #COVID19 infection in our communities by calling 08000CORONA
“Together we can defeat #COVID19.”
Lagos state accounts for 376 cases of the 665 reported cases in Nigeria.
