Newcastle legend tips Boniface to lift Bayer Leverkusen against Atalanta
Newcastle United iconic goalkeeper Shay Given has tipped Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface to be instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Europa League final clash against Atalanta tonight.
Leverkusen are on the cusp of going the whole season unbeaten and the game will see the Nigerian duo of Boniface and Nathan Tella facing fellow Nigerian and Super Eagles teammate, Ademola Lookman on the opposite side.
While analysing the likely outcome of the final for UEFA TV, Given considers Boniface as the man to harm Atalanta and maintain the unbeaten run of the German champions.

“For Atalanta, you have Gianluca Scamacca, who missed out on the Europa Conference League final with West Ham last year, and Victor Boniface for Leverkusen.
“You always look at the strikers as the main men who are going to get the goals, and I think the two will probably have a lot to say as to where the trophy goes.”
The Nigerian striker has 23 goals involvement in all competitions this season for his club with 18 goals and five assists in 30 matches.
