The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Moshood Olagunju has been accused of being the brains behind the crisis rocking the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the state.

The Osun NYCN also accused Olagunju of using divide-and-rule tactics to cause disaffection within the rank of the Council, because of selfish interest.

Olagunju had in an earlier statement on Monday said he knew nothing about the crisis in Osun NYCN.

“The crisis predated my appointment as Commissioner for Youth Affairs. I have also done everything possible to resolve it.”

Hassan said the election of Adetunji Ajala-led leadership of the Council was approved by the state governor, Ademola Adeleke and was supervised by the Ministry of Youth and Security agencies in the state before the appointment of Olagunju.

“Since his inauguration as Honorable Commissioner of Youth Affairs in Osun State on 19th July 2023, Honorable Moshood has been doing divide and rule and using individuals with a selfish interest to cause division in the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State but all his efforts has ended in futility.

“The Commissioner of Youth Affairs would neither listen to advice nor follow the laid down rules that are guiding the youth constituency.
